Cine film: original and restored
Videoconversion Digital Lab, in Barcelona, enhances home videos and family films with artificial intelligence: VHS, S-VHS, Video8, Hi8, MiniDV and VHS-C tapes, Super 8, 8mm and 16mm film, and also videos the customer has already digitized. It reduces noise, restores sharpness and color, stabilizes the picture when the camera shakes and delivers it in Full HD. Before paying, customers can watch a free 30-second sample of their own enhanced video.
Many family videos are already digitized, but on a modern TV or phone they look small, blurry and noisy. AI enhancement makes them enjoyable on today's screens: less noise, more sharpness and color, progressive picture and Full HD (1080p) resolution.
Each material gets its own treatment. For video tapes, a prior analysis measures whether the camera shakes: if not, we apply HD enhancement; if it does, we add scene-by-scene stabilization that only acts where needed. For cine film we also remove dust and specks while keeping the film grain, restore color scene by scene and stabilize the picture.
We work with professional AI (Topaz Video) on dedicated GPU hardware, combined with our own technology developed in our Barcelona lab for film cleaning, stabilization and quality control. Every video is checked before delivery.
You can order the enhancement when we digitize your tapes or films, or send us videos you have already digitized, via a download link (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer) or on a USB stick or drive. Before you decide, we prepare a free 30-second sample of your own enhanced video, split-screen before/after.
We are honest about the limits: AI greatly improves a sound recording, but it cannot recover what was never recorded. Tapes with serious damage (mould, signal dropouts, color loss) need a separate restoration assessment.

Fixed prices, with 21% VAT included. The only thing that can change is whether your video needs stabilization: the prior analysis decides, and we confirm it with the free sample before we start.

AI HD enhancement
VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, Video8, Hi8 and MiniDV in good condition, up to 180 minutes. Less noise, more sharpness and colour, in Full HD. Tapes over 180 minutes: +€14.90.
HD enhancement + stabilization
Only if the camera shakes. Tapes over 180 minutes: +€29.90.
AI film restoration
Super 8, 8 mm and 16 mm: dust and speck removal, scene-by-scene colour, stabilization and Full HD.

Your VHS, Hi8 or MiniDV already on your computer. Each extra hour €14.90 (counted in half hours). Stabilization: +€10 per hour.
Cine film files
Super 8, 8mm or 16mm already scanned: cleaning, colour, stabilization and Full HD. Each extra 15 minutes €22.50.

It turns the interlaced picture into progressive, reduces tape noise, restores detail and color, and upscales to Full HD (1080p) so it looks good on modern TVs and phones. If the camera shakes, scene-by-scene stabilization is added.
Yes. Our film cleaning tells dust and specks, which appear for one or two frames, apart from the film grain, which is kept. We also correct color scene by scene and stabilize the picture. Continuous scratches along the film cannot always be removed.
Yes. We prepare a free 30-second sample of your own video, original and enhanced side by side on a split screen, so you decide by watching the result.
When we digitize a tape, +€9.90 per tape (+€19.90 if it needs stabilization). A video file you already have: first hour €19.90, each extra hour €14.90. Already scanned cine film: up to 15 minutes €25, each extra 15 minutes €22.50. All prices include VAT.
Not exactly. AI enhancement makes a sound recording look much better. Restoration deals with specific tape damage (mould, signal dropouts, lost color) and is quoted separately.
Yes. Already digitized videos can be sent by download link from anywhere and are delivered the same way. For physical tapes and films we offer home pickup across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands.
